I am taking great liberties with the name “commonplace book”. A more nearly accurate title might be An autobiography of other people, because I think that is what most of my stories will be about.
Still, stories about me too.
(In the photo I am 13 or 14, the youngest one there. This is my lost world, I have no inkling that about a year later I will be moving five thousand miles away, and never see any of these people again.)
